  1. Development application was sent to the City of Missouri City. https://www.missouricitytx.gov/DocumentCenter/View/11482/110419-R-Pkt
  2. Patrick Feller has added a photo to the pool: http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5448/9608778750_f92a0e6790_m.jpg I've been doing some real estate photography lately, mostly interiors, and I really love it when that work takes me into one of Houston's older buildings. The Eller Wagon Works building had a rocky start to being repurposed as lofts, but it seems to be doing well now. The tenant whom I met loves it. 3. Here's the historical time line for this industrial warehouse building. In 1910 it was built for the WM. D. Cleveland & Co. Then the building was bought and became the International Coffee Building, then it was sold and bought and renamed the Sunset Coffee Building. Then came the club called Love Street Light Circus Feel Good Machine. From Rick Campbell's 40 Years After Blog: On Jan. 30, 1969, the Beatles performed publicly for the last time. The 42-minute performance on the rooftop of the Apple Building in London was captured on film for the movie Let It Be. About half of that performance ended up in the film. If you happen to be up around the north end of downtown Houston this Friday and hear Beatles songs wafting around in the air, you won't have found a portal back to 1969 nor will your imagination be playing tricks on you. Forty years after that legendary concert in London, the musicians of Love Street Light Circus will take to the roof of the old International Coffee Company building at Allen's Landing

  5. As you may have seen on the local news this weekend the Houston Furniture Bank http://www.houstonfurniturebank.org had a devastating fire early Saturday morning that destroyed everything inside the warehouse including a truck used to pick up donations. I am familiar with this organization and have a very positive opinion of this organization and its mission. It gathers donations of gently used furniture and, through vouchers given to various charitable organizations, gets furniture to people who are truly in need. In particular, many are those who lost all they had to fires, floods, etc. and do not have the means to replace things like beds, tables, and chairs quickly. If you should happen to need to dispose of furniture that is in good, serviceable condition please consider making a donation to the Houston Furniture Bank. As tragic as the fire and resulting loss is, I understand the Houston Furniture Bank already had plans to move into a new space. At least they should not have to wait so long for the old structure to be replaced.
  6. Six local businesses relocating to newly renovated warehouse in heart of Nicholson corridor An old warehouse on Nicholson Drive near the Mississippi River Bridge soon will be the new home to several tenants with design or artistically related businesses. The 18,000-square-foot building at 1010 Nicholson Drive will be called 1010 Nick and will represent something of a milestone in the redevelopment of the Nicholson corridor between downtown and LSU. 7. Noticed banners up for "The CO-OP HTX" near The Studio HTX / Tout Suite on the corner of Chartres and Commerce. The banner had some form of rendering. Couldn't tell if it is a renovation of an existing warehouse around there or a completely new project. Here is the website: http://www.thecoophtx.co No website says nothing but "coming soon" as of now. Anyone have any additional info? I'll try to post pictures soon.
  8. Being built right where Fairbanks N. Houston deadends at the beltway.
  9. Anyone heard any rumors of other companies set to develop with Sysco in the new business park located at the SWC of 45 N and Beltway 8? http://www.bizjourna.../27/story1.html
  10. BisNow has a blurb about a new data center being built in The Woodlands: The part that caught my eye, though, was that it's being built to "Miami-Dade County" building code standards. Does Miami have stronger building codes than Houston? Should it?
  11. There is an old warehouse near the Amtrak Station that is being gutted and renovated. Does anybody have a clue what this project is? The construction group is Manhattan Construction, but their website doesn't show anything related to this project. I'm hoping it's not some boring COH or HPD storage warehouse.
  12. Friday, June 22, 2007 PinPoint to develop new Houston FedEx freight facility Houston Business Journal Developer PinPoint Commercial has been selected to develop and lease a 243-door, 153,853-square-foot, cross dock freight facility in Northwest Houston to FedEx Freight East Inc. ... The terminal will be located at Houston-based PinPoint Commercial's 115-acre Satsuma Station Industrial Park near the intersection of Highway 290 and FM 1960, where it will occupy more than one-third of the total acreage. ... The project is expected to open by the second quarter of 2008.
  13. As an East End resident, I'm wondering what will happen to the huge Foley's warehouse complex when Foley's is eradicated from Houston later this year. Will Macy's use it as a distribution center, or will it be sold? There's a lot of acreage involved, and with such a lack of decent shopping in midtown and adjacent neighborhoods it would seem to be a good location for large-scale retail development. Those of us who live nearby just hope that if it is redeveloped it won't be cheaply-built townhomes or apartments.
