  1. For watching football games the stadium is adequate the way it is. It's the rest of it that needs renovating. High school stadiums have nicer dressing rooms then Rice. That's why I liked the last plan. They were going to preserve the main stadium and just tear down and rebuild the old outdated facilities on the south end zone. It was a good plan but apparently cost more then the school wants to spend. I'm afraid any new plans will just be a cover up, much like the slight renovations 10 years ago.

  2. I'm about half way through the book. She kind of jumps around a bit and because she grew up in the southeast part of Houston by Pasadena there is a lot of focus on bands and clubs from that area.early on.  Some I've never heard of but it's still a very interesting if you grew up in the Houston area, particularly during the 60's. Later she talks about the influence the Catacombs and Love Street had on bands. She had a great interview with one of my favorite Houston bands, Fever Tree. It's a good read for old Houston hippies. She even credits me with one of the photos used in the book.

  3. Crane wasn't the one that ran the Astros into the ground. Hopefully he's on the right track to making them a respectful franchise again. I'm not mad at him for rebuilding but I am mad at this whole exclusive Comcast TV network that won't let me watch Rockets or Astro games. Talk about alienating fans.

I had Comcast once and I wouldn't have them again even if they paid me. Worse company in the world.

  4. I scoffed at the idea of bringing Manning here. Who would have thought he would recover so well from major neck surgery? This time last year he couldn't throw a ball 5 ft. Also, I expected much better from Shaub.

I should have consulted my crystal ball.

  5. Shaub is not even in the top 20 after today's debacle. Any of the top 4 rookie QB's (Luck, RG3, Tannehill, or Wilson) are way better, and will continue to improve while Shaub continues his downward spiral. The Texans have no future with Shaub. Hopefully they will realize it.

  6. I have gotten a lot of flak for saying this, but I think Schaub is the next Mark Sanchez and honestly I believe he needs to go. He is too conservative and does not move around in the pocket.. the only place he moves is backwards (like last game one play he went back almost half the field!).

Also, I think we should do more passing plays on 1st and 2nd down and running plays when we are closer to the 1st down, although it is hard to trust Schaub lately with passing plays.

I agree. This was the year he was supposed to prove he is an "elite" QB but he hasn't done so. Good QB's find ways to win.

  7. I think my earliest concert was Led Zepplin at Hofienz Pavilion, 1969. I remember buying tickets at Brook Mays on the Southwest Freeway.

Actually they were at the Music Hall in 69 and at Hofheinz in 70. Then at the Coliseum in 71. Saw all three. Totally awesome.

  8. you shouldn't be concerned about the running game.

Miami was ranked 3rd in the league for least yards allowed for the running game at 95 yards.

And the Texans ranked second in the league in running last year so Dolphins defense or not they should have had a better showing. There were way to many third and one's they failed to convert.
