  2. This is the apartment under the main stairs. It is one of the few 2 bedroom units. 2nd floor hallway. You can see that they put all of the orginal door ways back in place just sealed over. if you believe in ghost this shoudl prove interesting. One of the kitchens. This room is on the second floor and has the best view of downtown and the surrounding area. It is a 1 bedroom unit though. One of the bed rooms. Notice the dividing wall in the background. It is a common feature through out the uints. In many rooms it is the only thing dividing the Bedroom from the living room.
  3. Okay here is the link to the old thread on the Hospital Old Jefferson Davis Hospital Thread with Pictures. And here are some new pictures for everyone to enjoy. You are looking at the main entrance The main entrance is behind you and you are looking at the new custom elevator and stairs going up. Rear unit looking at one set of stairs going up. Front corner unit second floor. One bedroom unit. Just for everyones information the area below the stairs is known as the Basement. The first floor starts at the top of the stairs. They really did a fantastic job with this place. The pictures really do not do it any true justice.

  9. There is one on the corner of Spencer Hwy and Underwood in La Porte, Texas. It is a 24 hour store now. How about Michaels Jewelry Store.
  10. They are calling it the survival set up. No anchor stores. just what people need. Clothing stores, hardware, groceries, banks and a few restraunts.
  11. It was the Second Jefferson Davis Hospital. And I think it was the second oldest Hospital in Houston. I could be wrong though about its age.
  12. Except for what I mentioned above. Not a thing left. Just memories! Jind of sad but the place was really getting shabby looking anyway. And the majority of the stores and shops were all closed and boarded up years ago! It was like walking in a ghost town. The old Bowling alley had been closed for years and was only used for storage.
  13. It is mainly the upstairs area that is haunted. And about all I have ever heard people talk about is cold spots, things moving occasionally and on occasion a figure or 2 appearing to people here and there through out the building.
  14. The only things left to remind you of the old Gulfgate mall is the bridge over the 610 loop and the signs. Even the old Movie theatre is gone! There is a Metro transfer station there now. The bridge is currently closed but it is also under renovation. They plan to use it to expand the parking area for the Metro area if I understood correctly.
  15. Personally I like the little accident on the freeway on the lower right hand side. Thart shows me that the atist really knew Houston well when he built this model.
  16. Well besides my digital camera not working the day they were examine some of the graves in the basement area I have not experienced much. But lately a lot of the workers and especially the nighttime security guards have been experiencing a lot of activity. Work on the building is nearly complete all of the new windows are installed and sealed and many of the rooms are nearing completion as well and they now have air conditioning running in the majority of the rooms. I was chatting with one of the security guards the other day and he was telling me that just a few days ago finished his rounds and the crew had just left for the day after shutting the old girl down and sealing her up. He was sitting in his car listening o the radio when he heard a noise. Stepping out of his car he noticed that every window on the hospital was wide open. How that happened he did not know. He called a fellow office over and they went through and re-closed all of the windows. The only other story is pretty common and has to do with tools moving on their own. A worker will put down his tools to work on some thing reach back down to pick it up and it will be gone and. He may or may not find it and if he does it will be across the room where it should not be.
  17. OH I would not say that! But some people experience stuff where others do not. Have not clue as to why!
  18. I agree. Wendys is very good and their new selection is top notch. I have been going there a lot lately.
  19. Oh she already knows about those places and has people working on them. She is looking for somemore personnal stuff. EXP: Object that have been squirrled away in attic's, storage buildings and L-O-R-D forbid, Basements. Pictures, documents, personnal letters. Mainly pictures. Not a lot of them have survived from the early days of Harris Counties history. If you email her she can give you a better list of what she is looking for!
  20. I am currently in gagged in an active search for historical documents and pictures related to Harris county. If you have any or know of anyone that might have any I would greatly appreciate it. Or if you wish you can contact the head Harris County Archivists at the below address. She is a real nice lady and is easy to talk to. And if you ever get a chance to visit her she has a wonderful view of Houston from her office space which almost takes up a whole floor. Sarah Jackson, CA Harris County Archives Criminal Justice Center 1201 Franklin, 12th Floor Houston, Texas 77002 sarah_jackson@fpm.co.harris.tx.us 713-368-7640 (phone) 713-368-7641 (fax) Thanks everyone for your asistance!
  21. I agree 100%. a godo friend of mine loves them but the few that I have tried were not that good at all. About all I found them good for was as snacks for my kid. They were small enough to fit in his hand when he was little. And plain enough to him that they tasted good.
  22. Yes I got your meaning and no that is not the closet one to me. Actually unless they recently add one there are no Burger Kings in Beaumont! They all closed. I do recommend that if you are ever over there you shoudl visit the Ryans steak house. They have an all-you-can eat steak bar. And my favorite restraunt is either Soup-er-Salad or a nice Steak and Sea food house. Crystals burgers are not that good at all. Dry and not much taste to them at all. My lady calls them soyburgers. MY kids likes them though because they are small.
  23. Yes and I was not impressed. Burger kings has better burgers. if you want there is one over In Beaumont near the Park Dale Mall on Dowling street. Way over priced and not very good in my opinion.
