    this is why houston sucks. no value on anything of historical or cultural significance. this is why this one of the most generic and nondescript cities in the country. houston is an example where money dictates the urban fabric.

    i live right around the corner and noticed the surface lot just to the west of that walgreens was fenced in with construction equipment sitting there. note the L shaped lot around walgreens:

    despite it's historical value, it's still an aging apartment complex. i'm surprised no one has redeveloped the land where my apartment complex is; creole at yorktown in galleria area.

    downtown just doesn't do it for me anymore...most of the clubs cater to the 20-something crowd and not enough choice in where to go. most of the clubs/ bars are the plastic studio 54 wanna-be's or hip-hop clubs. if i go, i prefer the pizza joint next door to cabo or hardrock. although, i did go to this hip-hop club on the corner (had fenced in patio) a while back and ended up dancing with these hot twins. that was cool.

    yeah, i will go ahead and say what everyone is afraid to say; pavilions is dead.

    wow, what a shame. this is to be expected outside the loop but to build this cheesy bigbox crap inside the loop is a waste. besides, costco sucks; they told me to leave when they asked to see my membership card which i didn't have.

    the downtown grid is actually east to west/ north to south, it's just that the rest of the planet is crooked.

    i can't believe they knocked that building for a god damned parking lot. this is why houston sucks.

    i never called that areana the compaq center either...always the summit but now i do call it lakewood beucase it's no longer an arena but a supersized church. the transco tower will always be the transco tower to be but wachovia tower does sound a lot better than williams tower.

    what a waste. there are so many drab and rundown apartment complexes in this city so why do they have to knock down some of the nicer ones? if this thing goes through, traffic on san felipe and westheimer is going to suck big time.

    six flags should have never taken over darien lake. i used to go there quite a few times as a kid. hate to see them shut it down.

    i live two blocks west of post oak and between this, the BRT route along post oak and the development over at the westcreek/ central ford sites, the traffic is going to suck with a capital "S".
