Urbannizer
The parking garage for this mid-rise will be covered thanks to complaints from nearby homeowners. The developer is also has a second complex in the works. His company is also developing luxury townhome rentals nearby along Memorial Drive and is planning another large residential redevelopment project across from St. John Vianney Catholic Church on Nottingham Oaks Trail."We've made a commitment to change that neighborhood," he said. Craig said he's met with architects to look at options for the garage, but nothing has been decided. "It could be better, no question," he said. "But also we're still under construction, and our first priority is get this thing built." http://www.houstonchronicle.com/business/real-estate/article/Open-air-parking-garage-makes-these-residents-6389567.php#photo-8319428
jt16
I live far enough away that it's not in my neighborhood, but close enough to drive by every once in a while. I can't believe anybody thought this was a good final design. I'm not even sure how it gets so far along to being built. It seems like there should be some relatively simple fixes. Garages all over town have figured out how to soften the imposing look when they can't be hidden via a wrapped complex.
On to the Next One
Drive by this everyday, and yea, the garage is very imposing and very cheap looking. Especially for a "luxury" apartment in an area that is pretty wealthy.
