You won't be surprised at any of the names on the list. musicman
Harris County has five buildings on the annual list of endangered historic places released Wednesday by Preservation Texas, a statewide nonprofit organization."What is going on in Houston?" asked Julianne Fletcher, the organization's executive director. Harris County includes more endangered places than any other county in Texas."Our selection committee tries to be as broad as we can, to get a wide range of the state," Fletcher said. "But just look at the needs in Harris County. It's amazing."The list includes the River Oaks and Alabama theaters, the River Oaks Shopping Center, the James and Jessie West Mansion, and as part of a group of historic theaters, the Capitan Theater in Pasadena.http://chron.com/disp/story.mpl/front/4535746.html Edited February 8, 2007 by musicman
