ProHouston
I'm considering going to Colorado this summer for vacation. Can anyone give me some advice on the best place to find a mountain cabin to rent thar is close to hiking, whitewater rafting, and sightseeing and not too far from a town with a variety of restaurants? Thanks! CDeb
My favorite place in Colorado for hiking is Rocky Mountain National Park. The views and trail variety there are top notch. There are over 300 miles of trails in the park, so there's something for everybody. Plenty of lake, gorge, waterfall, and challenging peak hikes. There are plenty of cabins to stay in in and around Estes Park or Grand Lake and the variety of restaurants is pretty decent. It's a tourist town, though, so if you're bothered by the presence of other people, it may not be for you. There isn't much rafting around, unfortunately. For rafting, we've enjoyed the Brown's Canyon section of the Colorado River near Buena Vista.
Mark F. Barnes
Pagosa Springs by far, and take this as totally subjective opinion, I have a place in Pagosa, and to me there is not a more beautiful place to be in Colorado. Visit the Poma Ranch, they are great people and have plenty to do. http://www.pomaranch.com/(970)731-6288My 2 pennies, enjoyhttp://www.pagosa.com/http://www.pagosaaccommodations.com/
