editor
The Superdome, that poster child for everything that went wrong in New Orleans, will reopen tomorrow... actually, probably "today" by the time you read this. At any rate -- Saturday the 23rd.
Subdude
You have to wonder - $185 million to keep the joint open until the Saints lease expires in 2010. Benson has to be champing at the bit to get out of New Orleans. Superdome may not keep Saints in NO
Trae
I hope he leaves. New Orleans can spend loads on the Superdome, but $0, or atleast help their poor. They don't deserve the NFL. Seriously.
Subdude
You have a good point. One wonders what their priorities are, especially since most of the renovation cost was from FEMA, or Your Tax Dollars at Work. My (unsupported) theory is that the NFL leaned on Benson to stay in New Orleans for PR purposes until the lease runs out, instead of bolting last year like he wanted to, in exchange for getting a shot at one of the new Los Angeles franchises later in the decade. PapillionWyngs
I thought they were never going to reopen it - too much destruction and too many painful memories. Did I miss something?
