Houston1stWordOnTheMoon
Is this the sort of crap METRO will try to pull here?http://www.the-bus-stops-here.org/brt.htmlhttp://www.garden.force9.co.uk/OBahn.htm
CE_ugh
The O-bahn design doesnt look to bad but the American versions are horrible. I would never want to live in Las Vegas
MexAmerican_Moose
ugh....they look lie regular busses...i still think that the Harrisburg line should be light rail instead of BRT...the ridership potential is there..i guess light rail is so much more expensive

The arguements about ridership numbers are stupid. People voted for trains, give them trains. Putting that glorified bus garbage into play and dressing it to look like a train is like pissing down someones back and attempting to tell them its raining. zaphod
ugh...that O bahn in essen is nice but it looks so trashy... they have to mow that grass.but yeah, thats beside the point.personally, I think BRT is a great idea to connect with the rail. You could more riders if you have clean and fast buses connecting all the stops.
ricco67
I'm still curious if a tunnel will be built for the BRT like it was proposed originally.
editor
Doesn't Seattle have some sort of bus tunnel system? Is it the same thing as this?
DaTrain
^^^Yes, but because of the LRT under construction there, it closed last year and will STAY closed until next year. After that, LRT will run thru, and only hybrid buses will run there from now on due to the electric conversion from trolley buses to LRT. Bad news for trolley buses. Guest danax
Hopefully our BRT vehicles won't look as gaudy as those. They look like casino buses. Hey, if they are gaudy, maybe that will help get the ridership levels up when you add up all of the old folks who'll mistakenly board thinking they're going to Coushatta. Talbot
The O-bahns are pretty cool, especially how they look like a stray bus just driving out of the foliage out of nowhere.
