The beautiful weather followed me to Helsinki. Temps were 40's - 60's the end of May.

Street Scenes. Most of the places I visited still have a lot of the old cobblestone and brick streets.

Looks nice. But where are all the people? Is it a quiet city?

I wondered the same thing. Went into a tourist info place to check e-mail, and I was told it was a national holiday.

it was a quiet city. there were plenty of people out and about, but only in the main city centre, when you leave that area, it gets very quiet.

while i was there, an Internation Festival was taking place, which drew a good crowd. there were also several outdoor markets daily that were crowded. and lots of people on bikes.

late at night (even though it was still light out), there was no one.

to me, it felt like a very safe, conservative, quiet city, i enjoyed exploring it- less then two days was enough. quite the opposite of St Petersburg where i had just come from, which is an amazing city.

St Petersburg is my next photo-op. Were you on a cruise as I was?
