katyfan
Does anyone have any insight into the leading candidate area for the Trans Texas Corridor crossing of I-10 west of Katy?
Subdude
Wasn't the initial TTC west of San Antonio and Austin?
katyfan
Wasn't the initial TTC west of San Antonio and Austin? There are two separate projects. TTC-35 is just east of San Antonio. TTC I-69 will cross I-10 somewhere near Houston...it will either follow I-59 through Houston or cross I-10 west of Houston (Sealy to Katy). A link to the official TTC site is below. It's going to be ugly for someone.http://www.keeptexasmoving.com/projects/i69/
TJones
As far as 69 is concerned it SHOULD run closer to the Port of Houston and Baytown. Home Depot has a major distribution Plant in Baytown, and could easily use this for transport of material. On the flipside, Walmart, has a major distribution plant in between Katy and Sealy, so they could benefit from the corridor as well, but I think the whole Port of Houston thing would TRUMP all of it. Wal Mart is one of the main reasons that the east section of the Grand Parkway is currently under construction.

Wal Mart is one of the main reasons that the east section of the Grand Parkway is currently under construction. It is? I knew that was why they are building that overpass that looks like it is in the middle of nowhere just east of Baytown. When will it be complete to IH-10? It would be a good evacuation route.
