Marquette Land Investments acquired the 1,050-acre tract, located between 8 Mile and 11 Mile roads on both sides of FM 3005, from twin brothers and Galveston natives O. Donald and John "Buck" Chapoton. The Chapoton brothers are Texas attorneys and former assistant secretaries for tax policy in the Reagan administration. The majority of the land, known as the Chapoton Ranch land, is north of FM 3005 with some beachfront acreage.Continued below.Bizjournals article.
