Highrise Tower
This week I discovered that John H. Kirby founded his own bank, or was President of the bank, called Planters and Mechanics' National Bank. The building was located in downtown at 214 Main Street. I was able to find a photo (drawing) of the bank from the late 1890s to the early 1900s. I wonder if there's a better photograph out there? I'm sure HAIF will find it one day. It's also remarkable of all banks that were located on Main Street. You would think Houston was London!
