Highrise Tower Posted October 20, 2023 Share Posted October 20, 2023 The area near the Texas Medical Center will soon welcome a new three-story, 20,000-square-foot building to support the Houston Health Department. During an Oct. 18 meeting, Houston City Council approved an ordinance authorizing a professional architectural services contract with Houston-based Johnston LLC for the Holcombe Lab expansion. The contract is worth just over $1.2 million. The new building — currently dubbed BSL-2 lab — will be adjacent to the existing lab at 2250 Holcombe Blvd., according to the City Council agenda item.
