These are some shots I got at night, of the 2nd to last building to be demolished - it had been demolished just half way. I used an Olympus Stylus 9000 with the long exposure night shot mode, steadying the camera on my work van. The only significant lighting for these shots would have been from the freeway or the little mini mart at the corner, so I think they came out pretty well.

 

I wonder about the history of the 60s era buildings, the courtyard style ones. You can see at http://goo.gl/maps/RR0t8 that there appears to be two varieties of the courtyard style building, either short (like the ones adjacent to San Felipe) or long (like the ones that have been demolished). One long style building remains as part of the existing Westcreek at River Oaks. I believe that all of these buildings were originally one apartment complex, which may have been called "Savannah Club".

 

Still, it seems odd that you would fully line one side of the street with apartments, but only half of the other side.
