It's located on the corner of Windsor St in the Cherryhurst subdivision. Next to 1424 Westheimer Rd is 1420 Westheimer Rd. A parking lot occupies the property. 1420 Westheimer and 1424 Westheimer are owned by Windsor Center, LLC. On the property is a 3,500 sf building constructed in 1960. Refuge, a sister bar to Anvil, is located at 1424 Westheimer Rd, Suite A. Prior to Anvil, Slider's / Slider's Bar & Daiquiris operated out of Suite B. Suite A was previously home to Tongue-Cut Sparrow. All-day cafe Penny Quarters and night club Etro were also located in suite A. Heugel shared plans for Refuge's downstairs event space: Beyond BLT, Heugel and Yu are adding a new component to Refuge, their upscale bar located in the same building as Anvil on the lower Westheimer curve in Montrose. The space, which formerly housed the pair’s now shuttered cocktail bar and restaurant Penny Quarter, and has since been used as private event space, is being transformed into a coffee house and bar that will keep daytime hours.
