AMNESTY TO CLEAR OVERDUE FINES OR LOST ITEM FEES ENDS SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 18, 2023 Library users are invited to visit any Houston Public Library location on the last day to return overdue items or ask for old fines to be forgiven. Library staff can assist to clear charges and restore accounts. This excludes any fees associated with Interlibrary Loan, as they are imposed by libraries outside the HPL system. Houston Public Library will continue as a fine-free system after the amnesty period ends, with accounts only reflecting fees to replace lost or damaged items that are not returned 30 days after the due date.
