COH new crime project plan with criminologist

As our city continues to prioritize public safety and combatting crime, Council approved the development of a crime project plan in coordination with an independent criminologist who will be responsible for analyzing crime in Houston and looking for evidence-based policy and solutions. Council also voted to move forward with an ordinance that places a $478 million bond referendum proposal that prioritizes public safety and does not require an increase in property taxes in the November election.
