Sky Ranch Airport At Highway 288 And Almeda Genoa Rd.

You may be thinking of Sky Ranch Airport which was started by 3 Tuskegee Airmen after WWll. It was at the northwest corner of Almeda Genoa and now Hwy. 288.

It was Linda Sue I was thinking about. I'd heard about Sky Ranch Airport, but I never knew it was started by some Tuskegee Airmen. I'm always learning something new. Thanks!

Interesting...looks like it was located about where the pipe yard is now, just across the South Loop from my neighborhood.

Current aerials don't show any sign of a landing strip.

If it was paved (or even gravel), I wonder if it became part of either the South Loop or the pipe yard?

Anyone know of a website for historic aerials?

Yes. This one is great, with several subsections about the Houston area. Sky Ranch is listed, Linda Sue is not.
