citykid09 Posted February 24, 2005 Share Posted February 24, 2005 Another one!1:03 PM CST ThursdayLithuanian consulate to open in HoustonVygaudas Usackas, Lithuanian Ambassador to the United States, will inaugurate Houstonian William Altman as Honorary Consul of Lithuania for Texas in a reception on Friday. Lithuania is the newest country to join Houston's roster of 82 consulates. "The consulate is a sign of Lithuania's continued integration into the international community, having recently joined both NATO and the European Union," Altman says. "I hope to continue to extend and build bridges between Lithuania and the Houston business community." Prior to working with the consulate, Altman was president and CEO of Kardia Therapeutics, a local biotech firm; co-founder of FemPartners Inc., a Houston-based women's health care services company; and chairman of the U.S.-Baltic Foundation.
