Biderman’s, an Austin deli known for its top-notch bagels and Jewish deli staples, is headed to Houston with plans to open three locations across the city.

Owner Zach Biderman tells Eater that Biderman’s Deli will hit Houston in the coming months, with outposts planned for River Oaks, Vintage Park, and Orleans Square at Lake Houston. Biderman hasn’t dished on which of those locations will open first, but the locations are set to begin arriving in “late 2021.”

Biderman opened the first outpost of his wildly popular deli in Austin in 2016 as an homage to his grandparents, both Holocaust survivors. Since its debut, Biderman’s has expanded to three locations across Austin. The menu is inspired by the beloved foods from Biderman’s childhood, like bagels and lox and corned beef that’s made into towering triple-meat Reuben sandwiches. The deli also serves pastrami breakfast tacos, omelets, and breakfast sandwiches, among other Jewish deli staples.

“We are honored to share our food and legacy with the Houston community, and look forward to serving and connecting with our guests,” Biderman said in a statement.

Corporate entity filings indicate that the River Oaks location could open first, but stay tuned for more details on the much-anticipated arrival of Biderman’s in Houston.

Biderman's, a Jewish deli from Austin, is opening in one of the street level retail units at SkyHouse River Oaks.

Located at 2031 Westcreek Lane, Suite N1, Biderman's is taking over the space previously home to Inferno Pizza.

If the Loopnet listing is any indication, Biderman's may have recently leased the unit. The leasing listing for the unit was updated October 21 and removed shortly thereafter.

Hiring listings for various positions at the upcoming Houston Biderman's were posted over the weekend. So, it shouldn't be too long until the River Oaks location opens.

This is the first of a handful of restaurants Biderman's is bringing to the Houston area. As reported by Eater Houston, an entity filing indicates a possible location in or near Vintage Park in northwest Houston. At least another is proposed for Cypress.
