SpaceAge
October Mod of the Month Houston Mod invites you to join us this Sunday, October 10, 2021 for a Mod of the Month open house event from 2 - 4 PM. Please help find new preservation-minded owners for these nifty vintage modern houses located in the Glenbrook Valley Historic District, about 8 miles southeast of downtown Houston. In 2011, after a three year struggle, the neighborhood of Glenbrook Valley, consisting of 1,256 houses, was designated Houston's first historic district outside of the Loop 610 freeway and is believed to be the largest mid-century era residential historic district in the United States. While visiting, note the recent vintage-styled neighborhood entrance markers, extensively landscaped recreational medians along Broadway and the many newly reconstructed streets with new utilities throughout the area plus the ever improving condition of the houses and landscapes. Thanks to Houston MODern Market for sponsoring this FREE event. 8215 Colgate Street, Glenbrook Valley, Section 11, Houston, TX 77061 HAR Link | Google Map An eye-catching front elevation with large gridded living room window and starburst accented entry set the tone for this appealing mod ranch on one of the most attractive streets in the historic district. The interior is equally attractive including exposed brick walls, a fireplace, and custom built-ins. Many rooms open to the patio, complete with vintage swimming pool.
