Blue Dogs
It's officially the end of a LONG era at NBC 2 KPRC-TV Houston. Legendary NBC 2 KPRC-TV Houston News Anchor Bill Balleza announced he will be retiring from the Houston NBC Station effective in January of 2020. He began his journalism career as a TV Reporter for KRON-TV San Francisco, CA in 1971, before joining CBS 11 KHOU-TV Houston in 1973. A graduate of San Antonio College, he served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War & also served as a Marine Scout Sniper during the Tet Offensive of 1968. He & his wife, Melissa have 3 children & 2 grandchildren. He's also an avid woodworker & has designed & built furniture, including for families that he & his NBC 2 colleagues sponsored for Houston Habitat for Humanity. Thoughts on Balleza retiring & how do you think he'll be remembered ? https://www.chron.com/life/article/After-39-years-KPRC-2-anchor-Bill-Balleza-plans-14539722.php https://www.facebook.com/BillBalleza https://www.click2houston.com/news/local/longtime-news-anchor-and-houston-icon-bill-balleza-to-retire-in-january_ Edited October 16, 2019 by Blue Dogs
