In what many considered as no surprise, Houston City Councilwoman At-Large 4 Amanda Edwards (D) declared her campaign for the United States Senate yesterday, jumping into what's likely to be considered a crowded Dem Primary with State Senator Royce West (D-Dallas) likely to declare his US Senate campaign sometime this month. Edwards will finish out the remainder of her 1st 4-year term on the Houston City Council, which expires on January 2nd, 2020 & won't seek reelection to another 4 years to her At-Large City Council seat.

Thoughts on how Edwards (assuming she wins the Dem Primary) will do against United States Senator John Cornyn (R-TX), who'll be a strong favorite in his reelection bid for a 4th 6-year term in November 2020 ? Remember, Cornyn has been undefeated in every single election: Primaries, Runoffs & General Elections since 1984.
