J.A.S.O.N.
The property at 1821 Winnie, built in 1893, made the headlines in the spring when it was severely damaged May 7 from a storm system that swept across Galveston County with winds gusting to more than 60 mph. "The historical foundation bought the property from Hector Guerrero, who did not have wind-damage insurance. The neighboring home at 1823 Winnie, also built in 1893, slammed into the other house during the storm. Both homes were dislodged from atop their 8-foot piers..." http://galvestondailynews.com/story.lasso?...a536276a7b8596d

WesternGulf
I'm hoping to go on a photo tour of Galveston soon. I cannot wait all the way til Mardi Gras. Hopefully I can photograph these two beauties.
Talbot
They are nice looking houses, I am glad that the historical foundation bought them too, so noone bulldozes them.
J.A.S.O.N.
WG, some of the most beautiful homes on the island are located on the two one-way avenues O & P. You can find some homes there that are rarely seen on the net. Edited December 9, 2005 by J.A.S.O.N.
WesternGulf
Both request will hopefully be fulfilled. My first Galveston tour I felt sucked and I will try to do some different stuff. I didn't even make it downtown, because I was ignorant of some of the beautiful buildings that existed there.
