Charitable Giving Tax Advantage

In the aftermath of the unprecedented natural disasters along the Gulf Coast, special legislation has created a charitable giving tax advantage that is only available for contributions made between August 28 and December 31, 2005. We would like to make you aware of this unusual opportunity to maximize your tax deduction for charitable giving.

To assist taxpayers who want to support hurricane relief as well as their favorite regular charitable organizations, the maximum amount of deductible cash contributions has been increased to 100% of adjusted gross income for certain cash gifts made between August 28 and December 31, 2005.

Unrestricted and restricted individual contributions may be made to any qualified public charity whether or not the charity is engaged in hurricane relief. Contributions must be outright gifts of cash made between August 28 and December 31, 2005.
