Subdude Posted October 1, 2004 Share Posted October 1, 2004 AHA presents Archives Week ActivitiesThe Association of Houston Archivists (AHA) will offer a morning of free public activities from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, October 9, in conjunction with National Archives Week. The event will take place on the third floor of the Julia Ideson Building, 500 McKinney, and will showcase the talents of several archives professionals. The event will offer several sessions that the public is invited to participate in. The first two concurrent sessions, from 9-10 A.M, will address the preservation of family papers and archives. The second session will highlight disaster recovery for family papers and photos. From 10-12 the public is encouraged to sign up for individual consultations with archivists who will be on hand to offer personalized advice for the preservation of historic photographs and documents. From 11-12 archives professionals will present a how to session on documenting family oral histories. The event is free and open to the public.
