Residents who experienced flooding in their home or business should report the damage to the City of Houston by calling (713) 837-0311, emailing 311@houstontx.gov, create a service request online, or use the mobile app. These reports are vital because they demonstrate the need for a Federal Declaration of Emergency, which helps determine whether our city will receive FEMA resources for recovery.

Obtaining and Providing Assistance For flood survivors in need of immediate lodging, the American Red Cross – Texas Gulf Coast Region is operating three shelters in Harris County, open 24 hours a day. For assistance with food, clothing, medications, and other social services, residents may contact the City of Houston’s 311 hotline to be directed to area providers. Residents forced to evacuate their homes may be concerned with potential looting. Houston Police Department Chief Martha Montalvo confirmed that additional officers will be allocated to patrol neighborhoods impacted by flooding, including Meyerland, Willow Meadows, and others in District C. Make a personal or corporate charitable contribution to the Greater Houston Storm Relief Fund. Volunteer your time to assist flood survivors.
