Divorce For The Greens

The ugly divorce between outgoing 3-term Houston City Controller Ronald C. Green (D) & his estranged wife, Harris County Justice of the Peace Precinct 7 Hillary Harmon-Green (D), has reached a very hot boiling point to the point of political intrigue & potentially damaging for both given the nature of the allegations both have levied against each other in family court.

Houston Chronicle reporting accusations of irresponsible, unethical & even illegal behavior have been coming hard & fast & furious during an off-&-on Harris County legal battle that started when Harmon-Green filed for divorce back in April 2014. The couple apparently reconciled & dropped the case 2 months later. But suddenly, Green filed for divorce & their conflict quickly escalated faster than you can say House of Cards' President Frank Underwood degrading his wife, Claire in the final episode of the 3rd season.

Ronald C. Green, Houston's 2nd highest elected officeholder, has accused his wife of being a "longtime drug addict" who abuses prescription pills, had violated laws by "driving under the influence" & "operates daily with impaired judgment as evidenced by her presiding over cases in which she has ongoing sexual relationships with litigants & witnesses," according court documents that the Houston Chronicle obtained from the couple's pending Harris County case.

Green has held citywide office since 2004: elected to the Houston City Council At-Large 4 in 2003, 2005 & 2007 & elected Houston City Controller in 2009, 2011 & 2013.

Reaction from anyone on the nasty divorce ?
