Angostura
(Looked for original topic on this, but I couldn't find it.) The demo permits for the Fixtures International site were issued today. Curious if there's been any news on the abandonment of Allston St below 6th St.
crunchtastic
What do you mean precisely by abandonment--of the city street?I have a friend who lives on that block with no plans to sell/move, but to me it seems it sure will be painful to stay. s3mh
TC gave up on Allston due to too much opposition. Instead, they went for an abandonment of part of the alley between Yale and Allston. I believe that was approved.
mako
Interestingly enough, not only did TCR abandon the abandonment they have paved the 20-30 foot gap on Allston so it now connects to 5th street. May just be a temporary measure to allow residents of the 500 block of Allston an exit while 6th street has been demolished. Some of the Fixtures demolition started 2 weeks ago - they've already removed the section of warehouse directly across Yale from Dry Creek. They traded a 25' section of land on Allston for the southern piece of alley that Fixtures had built part of their warehouse over years ago - going to be a bent alley with the sewer rerouted out along Allston.
