With the growing interest for urban living in many American cities, including Houston, many people are searching for housing and jobs in walkable cities and neighborhoods. But what really makes one neighborhood more walkable than another neighborhood? Yes, density helps, but the key really is designing and building a neighborhood form that encourages walking, biking, and transit use more than it encourages driving.
