Lol, well you could say the same for official city populations haha.  We're all freaks here ;)

 

And that's true, Chicago's urban area only grew by a few hundred thousand in the last ten years, while Houston's grew by over a million. 

 

Both have their pros and cons, Houston is in a great position for the future.

 

Chicago held an excellent seat between East and West when that became the dominant axis of the country and the continent.  If the axes have shifted to north-south, then the Texas Triangle is in the hot seat for the next few generations.

I don't see what the Dakotas have to do with it. More like Houston is one of a handful of z-axes:

They are right. the city can't manage all of the etj and it will only be a matter of time before the etj has more people than the city. then what? Some of these communities are going to want to break off to better self manage imo, but they will have not have a strong tax base.

Why didnt some of these suburbs start annexing land before COH surrounded them? Places like Humble, Katy, Spring.
