Can anyone recommend a good drywall contractor? I'm going to need extensive work done with this remodel. I'm in the Oak Forest area.

I do not know of a particular contractor but I suggest contacting a local drywall materials supplier and ask them for the names of two or three. They will give you names of contractors who pay their bills which is a good sign of a solid firm. Still, you should take that information and talk to the principals of the firms whose names you were given. A brief conversation should give you a good idea about who you are dealing with.

 

Hopefully someone will respond to this thread with some direct recommendations. IMO there is nothing better than a word-of-mouth recommendation. They are especially good if you know the source.

Thanks! I did receive a great word-of-mouth recommendation from an old teacher. He's even going to help me install my cabinets when he's done with the drywall!

He's hardworking and honest. He works solo usually, so if your job is huge and / or on a tight timeline he might not be the guy for you, but we have used him for our entire remodel process so far and have been happy.
