Houston History Conference

The City of Houston and The Houston History Association are co-hosting the annual Houston History Conference-"Rogues, Rascals, and Role Models: Famous and Infamous Residents of the Bayou City," on Saturday, May 4, 2013, 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., in the Julia Ideson Building - Houston Public Library, 550 McKinney, Houston 77002.

The daylong conference will include talks, interactive question and answer sessions as well as break-out panels, all presented by historians and scholars who have specific knowledge about the individuals who have shaped Houston's history. The keynote speaker is Rick Casey, award-winning journalist and host of Texas Week. Morning speakers include James L. Haley, author and historian; Melissa Kean, Ph.D., Rice University; and Joseph A. Pratt, Ph.D., University of Houston.

Papers and exhibits from local historical groups will also be on view.

The cost of the conference ranges from $45 to $65 and includes the entire conference and lunch.
