The Urban Design process involves ultimate what-if items to be considered for future community cost-sharing such as signage, illumination, public art, landscaping, specialty pavement, community gateways, design of bridge structures, bridge column supports, and so forth. The implementation of urban design elements will require cost-sharing between the City of Dallas and TxDOT. A potential "River" concept or theme that could be used for the corridors. tigereye
IIRC, this project has been in planning since 2002, possibly even before that. Those renderings are from the original concept but considering how the economy has changed since, I'd say its a safe bet there will be a different, much less elaborate design once they can finally find a way to fund this thing.
