WillowBend56
Here's an inviting classic looking hotel with past railroad ties (no pun) not far from Houston:http://www.whistlerhotelbnb.com/I've not visited there yet. Plan to!The name Chenango rings a bell. The bus caller in the movie A Trip to Bountiful sings out the names Arcola, Angleton, and Chenango (maybe not in that order) as actress Geraldine Page escapes Houston. I've heard of Chenango Plantation before but never the hotel.Re: the bus caller, Chenango is north of Angleton so in terms of when the bus would've passed through, the order would have been Arcola, Chenango, Angleton. I've never seen the movie but will have to.
sevfiv
In the movie he calls Chenango, Arcola, Rosharon, Angleton, Clute, and Velasco - maybe it was an oversight since the southbound order is Arcola, Rosharon, Chenango, Angelton, Clute, and Velasco. Here's a clip of it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VM5r1694Tc8#t=09m13s There are also some neat shots from the movie like this one (although wasn't it filmed in Dallas?): As for the hotel, it looks like a neat place to check out!
