JLWM8609
In the mid 60s, back when CO was based in Denver, they hired Capt. Marlon Green as the nation's first black airline pilot. It didn't happen without a big fight. Despite being the most qualified man for the job out of all of the other applicants, they didn't want to hire him because of his race. He sued and they hired him. Capt. Green flew with Continental until 1978 and he died at age 80 last year. I'm sure it's no coincidence that this honor comes during "Black History Month". http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/headline/biz/6859688.html
