Wow! They moved quickly on this. They just started sniffing the records late last week. The injunction has a pretty broad reach, too. I guess they didn't want anybody making extraordinary, last-minute withdrawals or gifts.

While not another ponzi scheme (at least not on the surface of what has been stated so far), it does demonstrate the need to consider transparency (the lack thereof, that is) as a risk factor.

Stanford Under Drug Investigation

Authorities tell ABC News that as part of the investigation, which has been ongoing since last year, Mexican authorities detained one of Stanford's private planes. According to officials, checks found inside the plane were believed to be connected to the Gulf cartel, reputed to be Mexico's most violent gang.
