I'm interested in seeing that article about the original facades. I always think about the convenience store near Main Street Square that was supposed to be uncovered and restored. I imagine there are a number of buildings around town that are just waiting to be rediscovered.

I've also seen it before at Bookstops.

Sunstar the facade article was really interesting (at least to me, but I like that kind of thing). The article has before and after shots of the convenience store on Main at Lamar. It didn't mention anything about tearing the facade off, though, so maybe that isn't on the burner any more. It also talks about the facades on the 806 Main building, West building (now gone) and several others. Back in the 1960s covering up facades was a pretty common way of "modernizing". Too bad.
