NenaE
Just found 10 years (1893-1903) of the Houston Daily Post online at the Library of Congress site.I ran across this today, also the Jewish Herald is listed. Interesting ads, Kiams, Foley's, restaurants, etc. They (the libraries) are making a little progress, with availability & digitizing. Yaaah. editor
As points of comparison, the Chicago Tribune has its archives back to 1849 available online and searchable for free. I use it all the time. The Chicago Sun-Times has 1986 to the present. The Chicago Defender only has 1910 to 1975 so far. But the Defender is a far smaller paper than the Chronicle, with staff stretched much thinner. If the Defender can be online, the Chronicle can, too.
