Nice photo. I do like these.

I didn't realize tilt shift lenses were so pricey.

Sorry to burst your bubble however, but this photo actually is most likely a PS tiltshift, not a hardware based one

Okay, I'm perplexed. What's the advantage of using one of these lenses? All I can see is a half blurred photo. Perhaps a before and after would better help illustrate the benefits?

They can alter the perspective, for one thing. Instead of the lines of a building converging toward a vanishing point, you can adjust the lens to make those lines parallel.
