I read in an article published a few years ago that only one person/family has ever kept their dream home due to the expense of keeping the property. If I won it, I would fly there, pick out the furniture I wanted to ship back home, and set up a meeting with a realtor!

I can't remember where I saw it, but I saw this one family that won a house on year. They actually moved into it, but between the husband and wife they made like $30,000 a year and were trying to keep up with upkeep of house. It was kinda sad because you knew (and I think they knew too) they weren't gonnna be able to stay in the house.
