crunchtastic Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 http://www.hgtv.com/hgtv/dream_home_2008/t...6_65584,00.html I wonder what it would cost to insure that? Wow. Macbro if you win, it sure would make a great HAIF party house. Quote
houstonmacbro Posted February 8, 2008 Author Posted February 8, 2008 That's a thought. Avoid paying taxes on it by donating it to a non-profit (specializing in parties!). Quote
travelguy_73 Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 I read in an article published a few years ago that only one person/family has ever kept their dream home due to the expense of keeping the property. If I won it, I would fly there, pick out the furniture I wanted to ship back home, and set up a meeting with a realtor! Quote

They actually moved into it, but between the husband and wife they made like $30,000 a year and were trying to keep up with upkeep of house. It was kinda sad because you knew (and I think they knew too) they weren't gonnna be able to stay in the house. Quote
