Best Places For Happy Hour

Need to set up a happy hour for my Alumni association and I'm looking to HAIFers for some suggestions. These are the main criteria I'm searching for:

Prefer downtown or Midtown area

Prefer something that would appeal to wide age range

Free appetizers would be nice, if possible

Any suggestions?

Don't know about the free appetizers part, but Flying Saucer and Cabo Downtown would probably do the trick. Also, The Front Porch in Midtown, but Midtown seems to be a younger (college grad) age range and Front Porch is pretty much just a sports bar. If you wanted more upscale in Midtown the Sushi place there called Fish I think has some happy hour specials. Don't know how you feel about sushi though...

I've gone to a couple of event happy hours at Pub Fiction. They have a separate, back bar area they use for groups.

Also, The Front Porch in Midtown

parking around there sucks, esp if the group is large.

That is true for Front Porch, but you can valet at Fish...

Thanks for the suggestions. I already have an email into Pub Fiction, so we'll see where that gets us.

Christian's Tailgate is a good one. Cyclone Anayas is one as well. Both are in Midtown.

Amazon Grille is my favorite happy hour spot - cheap drinks and apetizers.

I can get something nice set up for you @ Jonny's Sports bar in the Village (Kirby & Bissonnet). It has a deck, great drinks, great jukebox, pool table, shuffle board, tons of TVs. It is actually a pretty popular place for alumni functions. Rice, A&M, UT, UofH have quite a few of them there.
