dfwcre8tive Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 (edited) Google Maps has updated Dallas with full street views. They covered a lot of area! Now you can see it all from your living room. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&...664382861089225 (my house) Someone on Dallas Metropolis Forum compared Google coverage of the 2 regions. How long has Houston had it? Edited December 13, 2007 by njjeppson
RedScare Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 Can I be the first to say that the entire street is devoid of pedestrians?
Jax Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 No fair, the Dallas images are much better quality, and you can look up and down (you can't do that in the Houston street view). And the coverage seems better. And it doesn't seem like they took all of the images on a sunday at 7:00 am in the winter with no leaves on the trees. I think they need to start over with the Houston street view, it really makes a lot of Houston look bad. Can I be the first to say that the entire street is devoid of pedestrians?I see 3 people sitting on benches.
dfwcre8tive Posted December 13, 2007 Author Posted December 13, 2007 (edited) Yeah I think it's a Saturday morning (they can't close off Main Street for construction on weekdays). But my area of downtown is pretty dead most of the time anyway (empty storefronts, buildings under renovation, demolition for the park). Once the Mercantile opens in February I'm hoping for more street life on my block. Edited December 13, 2007 by njjeppson
Trae Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 (edited) Houston has had it for a while. It will be easier to update the views. Even San Francisco's looks bad. The earlier cities all look like that and the newer ones have better coverage. Edited December 13, 2007 by Trae
