suziiswanda
Does anyone know what they are building on 34th Street where the Bill Mraz club used to be?
nativehou
I think I read something recently about an event facility going up there -- something you could rent for parties, weddings, etc. I couldn't find anything in the Chron archives, so I don't know where I read it. gardenoaksguy
Yes, this is a couple of blocks from my house. I hope they don't have too many loud bands for their outdoor receptions. Should be an interesting neighbor for what they call on their website the "historic Garden Oaks District". Didn't know I lived in a "historic" area or a "district". gwilson
I wonder if it really looks like the pictures they have on their website.
Native Montrosian
Yeah, I'm wondering where that rain forest in the outdoor picture came from. I don't remember scenery that lush at Vargo's.
Highrise Tower
Interesting site. Looks like the complex was built throughout the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s. Site plan: Original dance hall built in 1948. Original BBQ Pit built in 1948. Apartments built in 1955. Rental hall built in 1965. Rudy Mraz home built in 1962. Eugene Mraz home built in 1962.
