CincoRanch-HoustonResident
Will this Interstate 69 be a good or hopefully not bad thing for Houston and its fast growing metropolitan area.
pineda
I-69 Information Good background for you to learn more about I-69, the NAFTA Superhighway!
WestGrayGuy
From a economic perspective, I-69 is good for Houston. A new interstate traveling through our city will bring more commerce. From an environmental perspective, this is not so good. I69 will bring more Mexican trucks which admittedly produce more pollution. Personally, I would like to see I69 take the "grand parkway" path around Houston. I would prefer it not to travel though the central city along the current 59 path. The Grand Parkway is only 400'. Plus, the I-69 project has been funded by Congress, and the Grand Parkway is still awaiting funding. HCTRA, which was once a "cash cow", is no longer one, and has been dragging its' feet when it comes to funding any of the Grand Parkway routes. CincoRanch-HoustonResident
Interstate 69 will be going through the center of Houston. Look at there website.
westguy
There's already enough gridlock on central 59. I go through the narrow segment everyday and see lots of 18 wheelers trying to pass through it. I'm afraid that if the Grand Parkway is built as a tollway, truckers will just ignore it and clog up the center of the city even more. pineda
I-69 is dead. TxDOT needs federal money for the engineering studies still required to be done, and the federal government is not answering the phone on this one.

Montrose1100
I-69 is just going to be 59, I don't see what the whole deal is. There only changing the name.
Montrose1100
Speaking of which, the Grand Parkway is Really "OUT THERE!" and it doesn't make sence, they should be connecting 249 to Downtown, and to the parkway. I don't even see any major roads out there, but I bet there will be. Urban Sprawl at its worst people...
CincoRanch-HoustonResident
The only part where the Grand Parkway is "out there" is in the East side. The West, Northwest, and North areas that it WILL run through are already developed.
