wakester
Looking at the proposed schematics for the Hempstead Tollway, here Looks like it goes right over the old building with the Black Horse sign. Although not too surprising I guess it will be sad to see it go. One thing nice (at least on the south side of 290 out here) there will be no land for commercial strip malls along the access road of 290. There will be the UP RR, Tollway, and the Transit ROW between the 290 access road and any land. All the schemantics can be found here. mrfootball
Didn't there used to be a big Marlboro Man cutout sign near there or was that further up the road in Waller or Hempstead? Edited July 28, 2007 by mrfootball
hbcu
that's one of the last signs that you were entering the country at that time....with the 290 bypass further down opened, you also lost the landmarks in Waller and Hempstead as the bypass cut through pasture area which wasn't developed then.
