I like the design, the small yard and the deck and balcony. The whole "zen" Japanese minimalist vibe is attractive to me. The bamboo flooring is supposedly a good product, fairly durable and made from renewable grass.

Unlike the newer McMansions or suburban homes, it's been the townhomes which have become the vehicles for the very distinctive current style. I can't comment on the builder because there's no indication who that is, since UrbanLiving only markets them. So behind the packaging, the question/koan remains; is the flower really dog meat or neither?

There is no island or other division/work area between the kitchen and the dining/living area. Your back will always be towards guests when "entertaining", and there isn't anywhere to stage food and drinks. Also, opening the pantry door prevents the refrigerater door from opening (not to mention that the frig is on the other side of the sink from prep/cooking area). These are rookie mistakes.

Also, is there no direct natural lighting into the meditation area? Personally, I like to be bathed in moonlight when I meditate.

I do like the Porsche in the garage. But the Ford Escort next to it? C'mon!

musicman what do u suggest?

the 2nd floor design seems very forced. i don't know why the mediation room is there period, unless maybe to accomodate pipes for bathroom above. the kitchen countertops seem small and concur on the pantry design.

not that it matters but the fung shue isn't there wtih the way the furniture is placed (and rooms designed) in the brochure particularly since this is supposed to be an open concept. the back of the sofa faces the kitchen. i don't like that.

bedrooms seem to be small. the smaller one has so many doors and windows it would be hard to get all your furniture in here without blocking something. definitely no king bed in either bedroom.

i think if you're really interested go look at the model and then imagine your furniture in there.

as for the builder, i would have to go look. this isn't anything special to me.

musicman gimme some examples of props you like please!

what size are you interested? i think that everyone has different preferences which would make things a little difficult. are you willing to do some work or do you just wnat to move in? for me personally, i tend to prefer something older, even if it requires work.
