Ptarmigan
I wonder if there are anything about Houston Television History out there?
brucesw
There's been some good info in various threads here on HAIF; search for specific call letters. I remember particularly KVVV-TV being discussed and I think I posted here about KNUZ-TV.The Fault Does Not Lie with Your Set by Jack Harris is a history of KPRC-TV; out of print but copies can be found and HPL has a couple of copies.Texas Signs On by Richard Shroeder has a few pages on Houston TV.KTRK and KUHT have histories on their websites. Google for 'Utah Carl' for a story about the first day of KGUL (11).I will be posting on the early days on 2, 11, 39 on my blog eventually, but I've got a lot of radio stuff to post before I get to that. Any specific questions?, I'll try to answer and others here have knowledge.
brucesw
I was getting more e-mails asking for information about TV history than anything else so I started a TV section on my blog which includes a Houston Television timeline and a history of KNUZ-TV that expands on what I posted previously on the KVVV-TV thread here on HAIF. Vertigo58
Correct,There are numerous threads on TV programs from Houston's past. A mod should be able to find and merge. Under topic Don Mahoney & Jeanna Claire focuses on children's shows. Many members actually appeared on some shows. Just last week someone mentioned Paul Bosch (did I spell right?) he did several local TV shows. Good luck!
