My only real gripe about most new construction in Houston is the lack of flair. I want to see less function and more form. Where is the drive in these architects? Houston's "style" of architecture is for profit and cheap. You guys know what I mean?

Yes. Nothing better than looking at super bright, freshly poured concrete on a sunny summer day (with no sunglasses.) It is quite the challenge!

Most important part of that rendering for City Center is the parking garage. Looks like 9 levels of parking at that!

Is this what I am experiencing? Feels like seismic activity. What's up with that?

I don't like how you can hear your upstairs neighbors stomping in wood built mid rises.

The old building was certainly ugly on the outside but the bank lobby inside was old-school marble and wood, designed to impress. I miss that style of bank lobby. Newer banks are bland by comparison.
3700 Buffalo Speedway has a similar nice older lobby.

the building under construction cantilevers a third the way over the street on the right. it will extend a little more when they skin the building with glass. That is the street with Cyclone anayas and the lofts/ domain

What is the deal with all the vacant spaces at city centre? There are a few along the main street but the side street is mostly empty. Are they waiting to lease it or are they having a hard time?
Agreed storefronts are lacking but parking is at capacity already. After new garage opens any day now, other shops should open next year. City Center now has Dyrden Cremps Men's clothing just open to go with J Crew. So the rents call from a smaller pool of tenants. Occupancy is flat in the Lofts at City Center as well, as so far as immediate move in available.

$10 says it'll be a surface parking lot. Where you have to pay.
I would really like you to put some thought and effort in your posts. I like checking on this forum from time to time, and your comments come across as quantity over quality. It hurts my eyes to read what seems at times like the result of you typing with your face. Please go play Sim City and leave this forum to the grown folks. Thank you.

The new Holiday Inn at Clay & the beltway opened today. I was told the chef and the kitchen is well above average for a hotel of that status.

I was wondering when we were going to tear this thing down.
You are talking about your HAIF account, right? You can't possibly be talking about new construction. That's just the way I interpret things sometimes.

looks good.
What looks good specifically? Progress on the hotel or your post count?
